SIL certification Whessoe servo gauge LNG
It is with great pleasure and pride that we can inform you that our LNG servo driven level gauge, Model 1143 Mark II has been certified by the Germany based certification authority TüV Rheinland Group according to the requirements for SIL-2 / SIL-3.
TUV is a German, independent, world wide recognized test authority and perceived as the leader in functional safety certification for products, systems, people and organizations.
TuV informed us that the Model 1143-2 is the FIRST and currently the ONLY SIL-2 / SIL-3 certified level gauge in our industry. TUV has independently verified that our product meets the IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standard for functional safety as well as the NFPA 59(A) standard as far as applicable. Our product and the way the product was designed and developed was analyzed by TUV in detail. The TUV assessment included:
- the verification of management of functional safety,
- the hardware and software design and development,
- the reliability analysis (FMEA),
- the user documentation
- independent electrical safety, environmental and EMC testing.
A full listing of the standards that TUV has independently verified our product against is listed on TUV certificate for our product.
In view of the stringent safety requirements to which LNG sites must comply to these days, we are pleased that yet again Whessoe can indeed also meet those relative to the embedded safety and reliability of the level measurement systems themselves.
It will be obvious that we strongly recommend the end users that a detailed verification of the offered alternatives is indeed carried out, thus preventing that a true certification may be mistaken by a simple FMEA declaration...
Above mentioned much advanced high quality LNG level gauges are integrated in our Total LNG Storage Instrumentation System, which includes:
- Servo level gauges
- LTD gauge
- In-tank temperature masts
- Cool-down / leak detection system
- DIRECT COMMUNICATION TO THE DCS (a PC based, dedicated control platform is NO LONGER required) and last but not leasts:
- an ON LINE, fully automatic roll-over predictive / alarm system, again, as the only supplier in the world being able to offer such.
