Proven In Use according to IEC 61508 and 61511

Risknowlogy is introducing a new service called Proven In Use. The purpose of this service is to give industry the means to prove and select Proven In Use components as specified by the IEC 61508 and 61511 standards. The IEC 61508 standard states that if a subsystem is regarded as proven in use then information regarding the measures and techniques for the prevention and control of systematic faults is not required. This is of course a big incentive for manufacturers to show that their product is Proven In Use. But can end-users always trust the statements of product manufacturers? Risknowlogy is here to help.

For Product Manufactures
Product manufactures can use the Proven In Use service of Risknowlogy to get an independent review of their product(s). Once the review has been carried out and the product(s) meet the Proven In Use requirements the product manufacturer can use the Risknowlogy report to convince end-users of the “safe” capabilities of their products and compliance with 61508/61511.
