PlantScape System Demonstrates Transparent Integration of FOUNDATION Fieldbus
Successful Start-up of Gaz de France G17d-A Platform in North Sea
Phoenix, Arizona - The Industry Solutions Business of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions announced that Gaz de France Production Nederland B.V. is using the Honeywell PlantScape® distributed control system integrated with FOUNDATION Fieldbus for control of production of natural gas that has begun on its G17d-A platform in the North Sea.
The platform demonstrates transparent integration of FOUNDATION Fieldbus with PlantScape via ten Fieldbus Interface Modules (FIM) commissioned with FOUNDATION Fieldbus transmitters and control valves from different manufacturers. The FIM, a robust chassis-based module, features a high-performance, high-capacity design that delivers system-wide integration of data access, control, connections, diagnostics, and alarms with the PlantScape system.

The G17d-A platform is designed for unattended operation from the existing main L10A platform using Distributed System Architecture (DSA). This Honeywell technology allows geographically dispersed PlantScape systems to share real-time data across a network without database replication.
The PlantScape system installed on the platform is a fully redundant system and together with the Honeywell’s Fail Safe Control (FSC®) system, ensuring the highest level of process safety. Honeywell also provided application engineering, system cabinet engineering, and marshalling services.
