HONEYWELL XYR 5000 WIRELESS TRANSMITTERS EARN INDUSTRY PRAISE

Wireless Transmitter Series is Recognized for Innovation, Industry Impact

PHOENIX, Feb. 15, 2005 – Honeywell’s (NYSE: HON) XYR 5000 Wireless Transmitters were recently honored by multiple prestigious industry publications for their innovation and impact on the industry.
The product received the Control Engineering magazine 2004 Editors’ Choice Award in the category of Instrumentation and Process Sensors, the 2004 Breakthrough Product of the Year award from Processing magazine, and a nomination for Product of the Year from Plant Engineering magazine.

Honeywell began selling the XYR 5000 family of wireless transmitters in February 2004.
Since then, an increasing number of customers have embraced wireless transmitter technology.
The XYR 5000 transmitters measure and communicate process variables without using wires or external power.

“Each year, our editors review thousands of products that demonstrate exceptional market impact, technological advancement and service to the controls industry,” said Mark T. Hoske, editor-in-chief, Control Engineering.
“Selecting winners for the Editors’ Choice Award has become increasingly difficult, especially as more and more innovative products come to market.
Honeywell's wireless transmitters stood out as one of the most significant technologies of 2004.”

Honeywell also won Control Engineering’s Editors’ Choice Award in 2003 for the launch of its Experion™ Process Knowledge System (PKS), which improves business performance by integrating process and business data across the entire enterprise, making information and knowledge available when and where needed, so process manufacturers can make the right decisions quickly.

Processing magazine’s Breakthrough Product of the Year Award recognizes innovative products from the past year that will significantly impact process industries for years to come.
An independent panel of engineering experts selected the award winners.

“Honeywell’s XYR 5000 Wireless Transmitters provide an easy and affordable way to deploy transmitters throughout industrial facilities,” said Dennis Van Milligen, editor-in-chief, Processing.
“One of the only transmitters selected as a Breakthrough Product since the award’s inception seven years ago, this product is expected to reshape the process industries for many years to come.”

A panel of industry experts nominated Honeywell for Plant Engineering magazine’s Product of the Year Award after careful review and consideration.
To qualify for the nomination, products had to increase customers’ productivity and maximize efficiency.

In addition, Honeywell received Frost & Sullivan’s prestigious Sensors New Product of the Year Award for 2004. Frost & Sullivan recognized Honeywell for being the first major automation supplier to develop wireless transmitter technology.
It singled out the Honeywell XYR 5000 wireless transmitter series for providing exceptional benefits to customers and for offering significant advantages over traditional transmitters.

“Wireless technology is revolutionizing process measurement, offering customers tremendous new opportunities to monitor the process while reducing installation costs,” said Donna Lee Scaggs, vice president of Honeywell’s Industrial Measurement & Control business.
“Honeywell is proud of our leadership role in bringing wireless transmitters to market and of the recognition we have earned from respected industry sources.”

The wireless transmitter product line includes devices for accurately monitoring gauge, differential and absolute pressure, temperature and ultrasonic noise.
The product line also includes an analog input interface for adding wireless capabilities to wired devices. Up to 50 XYR 5000 wireless transmitters send measurements to a base radio networked to a control system or data acquisition device. The base radio also interfaces with the PC-based Wireless Management Toolkit that offers real-time configuration and indicating, trending and reporting capabilities. The XYR 5000 transmitters are designed to:

Improve product quality
Reduce installation, operating and maintenance costs
Meet regulatory requirements
Ensure high uptime
Enhance flexibility
