HONEYWELL WINS 2003 VISION AWARD FROM START MAGAZINE AND MICROSOFT
Independent panel recognizes Honeywell for Process Knowledge Solutions that drive manufacturing success
Industry Solutions announced today that it has won a 2003 Technology & Business Vision Award presented by START Magazine and Microsoft. The award recognizes Honeywell for Experion PKS(tm), a next-generation business, process and asset management system that enables customers to integrate, control and monitor complex processes in a range of industrial settings. Experion PKS and its associated Process Knowledge Solutions(tm) enable companies to manage process knowledge across multiple facilities and use that information to improve business agility, process performance and the effectiveness of assets and people.
"The Vision Awards are all about using innovative, leading-edge technology to overcome business challenges," said Peggy Smedley, Editorial Director for START. "Honeywell has done this by revolutionizing distributed control systems and providing customers with a way to systematically capture process knowledge in a useful, accessible format."
The T&B Vision Awards recognize companies that are driving their success - and the success of their customers - using leading-edge technologies. An independent panel of industry experts from AMR Research, Gartner and Industry Directions selects the winners. Honeywell received very positive comments from all analyst groups around the innovative use of Design for Six Sigma to ensure technological expertise matches customer needs, and abnormal situation and asset management. The award was presented to Honeywell at a ceremony in Kohler, Wis., on August 21.

START also so cited Honeywell for using technology within the company. Notable examples include the use of innovative technology partnerships to optimize solutions and digital technology that enhances global collaboration.
Experion PKS embeds three decades of Honeywell process control, asset management, and domain expertise into a unified Process Knowledge System(tm) architecture. Frost & Sullivan, a global leader in market research, also recently recognized Honeywell by naming it 2003 Industrial Controls Solutions Company of the Year, attributing its success to products such as the Experion PKS.
