New safety solutions for factory automation
(Brühl, Germany, 14th November 2005)
At this year's SPS/IPC/DRIVES in Nuremberg, HIMA will be presenting new safety solutions for the automobile industry, conveyor systems, passenger transport applications and sluice automation.
The technical and economic advantages offered by the HIMA solutions are being clearly demonstrated using specific reference projects at DaimlerChrysler, Frankfurter Airport, Thyssen Krupp and the Hamm and Werries locks which were implemented with HIMA's HIMatrix series of safety-related controllers and safeethernet.
Also presented will be three new remote IO modules for the HIMatrix range as well as new communication options via Ethernet IP, which extend the application areas in factory automation.
The safety-related controllers of the HIMatrix range, which are suitable for use in accordance with EN 954-1 to Cat. 4 and in accordance with IEC 61508 up to SIL 3, are networked via safeethernet, making them the fastest safety concept for factory automation.
The HIMatrix range differentiates not only by its extremely fast cycle times (for 1 K program approx. 0.02 ms), but also by the cost-effective integration of safe and non-safe data into a conventional Ethernet network. The safeethernet concept, which was developed for this purpose by HIMA, accelerates the safety-related data transmission to 100 Mbit/s, making separate safety buses unnecessary.
