New Safety-Related Limit Monitor with Rate-of-Change Monitoring from HIMA

The new safety-related limit monitor from HIMA – TÜV-tested according to DIN V 19250 and IEC 61508 for use up to requirement class RC 6 / SIL 3 – now provides the option of detecting critical development of analogue process values in time – before a safetyshutdown – by means of the rate-of-change monitoring to take countermeasures. If the analogue input value is out of the admissible range, now for signalling option-ally the switch-off of the module or an alarm output can be parameterised. Additionally the module has an input for remote acknowledgement. Five pushbuttons enable an easy parameterisation of all functions.

Tried-and-tested product characteristics are the selfdiagnosis with error signal via relay contact or solid-state output and LED, processing of up to 4 limit val-ues at the same time, current values or limits on the display, input configuration by external wiring.

Two module types with the same functions are available: F 6251 is the pin-compatible successor to the reliable F 6250 for the HIMA Planar System ; the 62 100 module additionally offers the communication possibilities which are typical of the new HIMA Planar4 System.

The safety-related limit monitor can be used for mono or redundant operation up to RC 6 / SIL 3 – as a standalone solution or as part of the HIMA Planar Systems.

Wherever analogue measured data is controlled, the safety-related HIMA limit monitor ensures efficient plant operation with a maximum of availability.
