Certified Function Blocks with Extensive Diagnostics

HIMA is presenting thirteen TÜV Rheinland-certified function blocks for factory automation applications: dynamic initiator, two-hand control, operating mode selector switch, enable switch, emergency stop, safety gate, feedback loop, electro sensitive protective equipment, muting, analog value processing, press safety valve.

The function blocks for programming the HIMA HIMatrix systems are TÜV-certified to IEC 61508/EN 954 and can be used up to SIL 3/Cat 4. This means that it is no longer necessary for the user to check the functions. This saves on time and costs during the programming and approval procedures.

The function blocks are simply used with Drag & Drop and are equipped with extensive diagnostics in order to ensure easy trouble-shooting and short repair times.

The diagnostics result can be used to uniquely identify all possible hardware, line and parameter assignment errors as well as the error location.

The integrated online help provides the user with all the necessary information at a moment's notice. The online help contains: I/O mounting patterns, hardware and software configuration, error code tables and configuration examples.

The function blocks can be used in the offline simulation. Error reactions can be stimulated by manually setting the input values. In this way, the programmed logic can be tested without safety PLC, which saves on time during commissioning.

The function blocks are used by the software ELOP II Factory, which is used to program the HIMatrix product family safety-related compact controllers.
