3 in 1: ATEX, SIL3, HART
HIMA is presenting two world premieres at the same time: the world’s first SIL3/ATEX-certified analog isolator with transmitter supply and integrated extraction of HART data as well as the world’s first SIL/ATEX-certified HART multiplexer.
The SIL3-certified Ex separator H6200 converts an analogue Ex input signal into two independent standard analogue output signals, while simultaneously extracting transmitted HART signals.
HIMA’s safety technology guarantees the lack of feedback from the HART signal on the analogue signal. Since separate outputs are often required for the transmission of the process signals to the control system and to the safety controller, the output redundancy of H6200 makes it possible to save on additional separators.
The HART multiplexer H6210 collects the data from up to eight H6200 and forwards it to a HART server via the integrated RS485 interface. Its safety-related HART filter function is unique. Basically, the transmission of HART diagnostic data can affect the parameter assignments of HART transmitters, resulting in safety-critical statuses. Therefore, during the safety-related operation of a system, the transmission of the non-safe HART protocol has had to be disabled for standard transmitters up to now - the diagnostic information was not available anymore.
The H6210 is the world’s first HART multiplexer, which is able to guarantee an absolute lack of feedback from the HART diagnostic data on the reparameterization of HART transmitters thanks to its safety-related HART filter function.
Therefore, HART diagnostic information can also be transmitted during the safety-related operation of a system. The filter function offers three levels of severity, with which it is possible to respond to the individual requirements of a safety loop:
1. Complete safety-related shutdown of the transmission of HART information during operation (SIL3).
2. Safety-related shutdown of the transmission of parameter setting data, diagnostic data of standard HART transmitters is transmitted to the HART server (SIL2).
3. Complete transmission of all HART information if SIL-certified HART transmitters are used.
The Ex separator H6200 and the HART multiplexer H6210 are both approved for assembly in EX Zone 2 and are additions to the ATEX-certified Ex device range from HIMA. This includes, for example, the switching amplifier H4011/12 that converts a digital Ex input signal into a digital output signal as well as the switching amplifier H4007 that converts a digital input signal into a digital Ex output signal. The certifications were carried out by the TÜV Rheinland Group.
