What is OSHAS 18001?
OHSAS 18001 is an Occupation Health and Safety Assessment Series for health and safety
management systems. It is intended to help an organization control occupational health and
safety risks and design their safety management system to a series of robust, accepted safety
standards. It was developed in response to widespread demand for a recognized standard
against which to be assessed and/or certified.

What are the benefits of OHSAS 18001?
The OHSAS 18001 is applicable to any organization that wishes to:
· Establish an OH&S management system to eliminate or minimize risk to employees and
other interested parties
· Assure conformance with stated OH&S policy, practices and procedures
· Demonstrate this conformance to others
