NIOSH conducts numerous field activities including health hazard evaluations, exposure assessments, control technology evaluations, and surveillance studies. These activities generate valuable detailed exposure information that is often used by NIOSH and OSHA to support the development of standards and exposure criteria. Utilizing Spiramid's software, these data will be captured systematically, secured and easily retrieved in a format to support the analysis required.

NIOSH worked with Westat, Inc. of Rockville, MD to evaluate alternative software solutions, and Westat will continue to assist NIOSH and Spiramid through final implementation.
