HIMA receives another Functional Safety Managment certificate (IEC 61508)
Following certification of the use of a Functional Safety Management system in product development and manufacture, engineering is the latest area to have been successfully audited by TÜV Rheinland. This certificate confirms the conformance of procedures for the integration of safety-related E/E/PES systems.
Functional Safety Management (FSM) is based on the standard IEC 61508, which sets organisational and non-conformance prevention requirements for the development of products and for the application of safety-related devices and systems. To ensure that these requirements are implemented consistently throughout the company and that employee and job responsibilities are clearly defined, the standard calls for the introduction of a Functional Safety Management (FSM) system. This includes the use of appropriately documented procedures, the monitoring and maintenance of safety criteria and the introduction of personnel training programmes. In this way organisational measures ensure that functional safety is both achieved and maintained.
Once again HIMA has confirmed its position at the forefront of the conception, production, planning and implementation of safety-related automation solutions.
