Why is TRICONEX the only company that puts their TUV certificates online?

Mostly so they could run a sleezy ad campaign suggesting that their competitors have something to hide.

However, there is more to the story. It has to do with the various TUV organizations operating in Germany and the fierce competition between the TUV's. TUV Rheinland (in Colgne), which is the TUV that Honeywell uses, launched a website www.tuv-fs.com and provided their clients with the option to make their certification documents available online. TUV Product Service (in Munich) the other TUV organization that certifies products for Siemens, HIMA, ABB, etc. did not offer this service to their clients. I believe TUV Product Service has just recently been given access to post information on this site.

You'll notice that Rockwell's reports for ControlLogix have just been published. Guess which TUV they use? Honestly, if I were Rockwell I wouldn't have published that report. It's about 2 inches thick full of restrictions on the use of the product - which is only approved for SIL 2. These guys do have something to hide but I don't think they even know enough about safety to know that they should be hiding this information.

Fact is, if you want or need a manufacturers TUV report, then ask them. Any reputable manufacturer will provide it.

What is Selected SIL "A" ? Cannot find references other than SIL 1 thru 4.

SIL A does not exist. I think you are confused with the machinery category rating.
