SafetyFirst - A TUV / Innotec IEC 61508 tool
SafetyFirst is an information tool not only for safety consultants and quality managers but in particular for anybody involved in the lifecycle (development, production, installation, etc.) of safety-related products. Whether you are new to safety or a seasoned expert for both there is detailed information available and without any pre-knowledge one can start using the application.
SafetyFirst informs in detail about all safety-related applications that include electromechanical, electrical, electronic or programmable electronic devices and includes information about important manufacturers and their safety products.

* Informs about all safety requirements and required measures from concept, development, production, installation, operation, maintenance up to disposal.
* Takes into account the requirements of application specific standards and EU Directives.
* Describes the relationship between risk, danger and failure
* Describes in detail the selection of measure to control and avoid failures.
* Explain in detail safety critical processes and techniques in the hardware and software
It is a practical manual on how to use and implement IEC 61508, how to select and rate the required measures and not just a listing of tables with measures.
