SIEMENS RELEASES NEW OPERATOR STATION FOR LEGACY SYSTEMS
New Release Enhances the Value of Installed PCS/OSx Systems
Siemens Energy & Automation has released PCS 7/505 OS, a PCS 7 operator station enhancement for its legacy TI process control systems. This new release enables users to apply Totally Integrated Automation and SIMATIC IT technology to their processes, resulting in reduced time-to-market, secured investments and increased productivity.
The PCS 7/505 OS operator station lets users update their systems to current technology that delivers functional enhancements, as well as technological advances to improve system capability. With the release, users gain better system performance and additional features while leveraging their investment in their existing SIMATIC 505 controller, control algorithms and logic, IO and field wiring.
“Siemens has once again developed a bridge that brings functionality and productivity benefits to users of installed technology like the SIMATIC 505 controller,” said Joe Borkowski, marketing manager, Siemens Process Automation Systems. “It’s a commitment that exemplifies our worldwide dedication to support and improve the performance of or customers’ currently installed automation systems.”
Siemens’ Totally Integrated Automation provides uniform automation technology on a single platform for all industries over the entire manufacturing facility – from inbound logistics, through primary and secondary processes, to outbound logistics. Leveraging the Totally Integrated Automation platform, SIMATIC IT enables optimal plant utilization through manufacturing execution systems and business applications.
