Honeywell and Triconex Extend Relationship for Safety and Control
PHOENIX, Arizona, September 09, 2002 -- The Industry Solutions business of Honeywell [NYSE:HON] Automation and Control Solutions and Triconex, an operating unit of Invensys plc, announced today the extension of their relationship to provide an interface between the Triconex Tricon Safety Controller and the Honeywell TotalPlant Solution (TPS) System(r).
A joint development by Honeywell and Triconex, the Safety Manager Module (SMM) interface integrates the safety functions of the Tricon Safety Controller with the control functions of the Honeywell TPS System. This agreement allows Triconex to continue to license Honeywell technology and to manufacture, sell, and service the SMM for a period of five years.
